Signs of the Neolithic Era
urban archeological park
Foggia - Italy - 2010
The project is a “proposal-program” because the design of the park and its implementation must adapt to the requirements of the archeological investigation. It's just the methodology of archaeological investigation that has inspired the elaboration of the project and the identification of certain operational phases which determine the design of the area. The project has been designed to be adaptable to the unpredictable, to the needs of the excavation and modification of functional needs. For most areas proposed interventions will maintain the existing stratigraphy. This is the case of grassland, the beaten earth and the accumulations of land forming banks and hills. The composition of the park is based on the circle, a simple geometrical shape, offering high adaptability. The matrix composition thus obtained may vary relatively to the number of circles, to their size and location defining the hierarchy of spaces, landmarks and paths.
